If you have a pup 8-18 weeks of age, then listen up. This is the most important time to impact your dog in a positive way. 75% of your dog's temperament, once fully matured, is environmental. You have the power to steer him, or her, in the right direction during these very important stages of development.

The single most important lesson that we have learned is the crucial impact that the first six months of a pup’s life has on its development.  These months are so critical that if certain social experiences are missed at precise times during this period, the negative effects on the puppy can be permanent.

The myth that puppy training cannot begin until the pup is 4, or even 6, months of age is unfortunately incorrect. The fact is, training can begin as soon as you get your pup, as long as you understand what we mean by “training” and use gentle, behaviorally-sound methods to establish a foundation for obedience. The learning process for a puppy begins at birth, and training can begin as early as the third week. Puppy training will allow the pup to learn standard obedience exercises and will also expose your pup to a broad range of experiences that will, in turn, deepen your relationship while the puppy is still growing.

Don’t take any short cuts to properly train your puppy. You hold the power in your hands and the leadership to shape and mold your pup to be the dog that you desire him to be - a healthy-minded, strong-nerved, and confident adult dog. It does not just happen on its own - dogs are only what we allow them to be.

You will need to change the way you live, think, and act in order to start your young pup's life off in a good direction. Here's where you should start:

Canine Leaders offers a 4 week puppy course designed to meet your needs, and certainly, the needs of the pup. This is a hands-on, one-on-one training done in your home. We will also do a temperment test on your dog to help you, and us, understand him better.

Areas that we focus on are:

  • Potty training
  • Crate training
  • Introducing the leash and walks
  • Basic obedience commands
  • Socialization
  • Puppy biting
  • Puppy chewing and destructiveness
  • And much more....

Note: The cost of this course will vary depending on your geographical location. The cost of mileage will effect the cost of your one-on-one, in-home puppy training course.
