Guard dogs for home protection, business security, or personal protection dogs - dogs trained in any of these skill always prove to be a valuable asset.

Personal protection dogs are not trained to be vicious, in fact just the opposite is true. A personal protection dog is one that you can take everywhere. A personal protection dog is a better and safer security option than firearms. According to the FBI, a burglary takes place every 20 seconds in Canada. Two out of every three are residential, and 60% of those occur in broad daylight. The presence of a protection dog will greatly decrease your chances of unlawfull entry into your home, or business.

At Canine Leaders we work with you and your dog as a team. We do not take, or board dogs, for this training since it is not nearly as effective as when we work with you both together. We train your dog using confidence building techniques to build up his drive and courage to protect you in any situation. The dog must first be trained with a high level of obedience and must have sociability and control skills. A good personal protection dog is also a good family dog.

We do not provide dogs trained for this work. What we do is test your dog to see if he, or she, is suitable for this kind of work. If you are interested in buying a dog for this purpose, we will assist in matching a dog to your personality and specific needs, and then train him.

Note: Each course is designed specifically with our client’s needs, goals, and objectives. We feel that you as a client should have the option of deciding what it is that you wish to learn and how far you wish to go with it. Some people have little desire to have a champion Shutchund dog, or a very well-trained personal protection dog, while others wish to achieve a great deal in this training. Each dog is different and they all learn at a different pace. Some dogs catch on very quickly and others may take a bit longer. The cost of this training is very specific to each client. On average, the cost for a 10 week Personal Protection course would be approximately $400, or $40 per week.
