In home training is our specialty. We come to you at your convenience to help you to train your dog. We give you total control over things, meaning that we build and structure a personalized course that suits your needs and goals.
We teach not only that the dog’s owner needs to be the leader of the pack but show them how to accomplish that and how to understand a dog's behavior from a dog’s perspective. We try to get our clients to understand how the dog thinks and how to work with that, rather than trying to change the dog to think and act more like a human. We help people to change their behavior, in order to influence their dog's behavior.
The problem is that when most people think of dog training they think of a room full of other dog owners and dogs and a trainer teaching the class. Unfortunately this type of training is not all that effective, for dogs and their owners anyways. There are many reasons why group classes are really not effective for getting success out of your training and behavior problems, and many reasons why we do not recommend them. I won’t get into those things in this article but if you should choose to better educate yourself on this topic then you should read an article I wrote about that called "Group vs. Private".

In-home training is just great alone because you have the power to dictate your class, not the trainer. Not to mention the fact that we get to train the dog in his natural environment (in and around his home), and this is where 90% of a dogs negative and undesired behaviors occur. It's a fact that dogs behave best where they are trained the most, and if your dog spends the majority of his time in and around your house then doesn't it make sense that this is were he should be trained?
That is why this is one of our specialties. We are leading the industry of In-home training and are one of Ontario’s few schools that provide this service. This service is targeted to those people who are truly busy and don’t have the time to get out and go to dog school, and it is for the people who really care about achieving success with their dogs and having their problems fixed.
Problem areas that we can help fix;
· Jumping up on people
· Puling on the walk
· Running from you
· Excessive barking
· Digging
· Counter surfing
· Getting into garbage
· Barging through doors
· Aggression towards humans
· Aggression towards dogs and other animals
And more
Skills your dog can learn:
· Heeling on a loose leash
· Heeling with no leash
· sit,down,stay,come
· Sit stay for 10 minutes with distraction while owner is out of site
· Down stay for 20 minutes with intense distraction while owner can hop in their truck drive around the block and return and their dog is still on the stay
· Come when called
· Retrieval skills
· Out command(letting go of undesired objects)
· Stand calmly on command for grooming and vet exams
· Settle down on a dog bed or go into crate on command
And much more
NOTE that the dogs are trained to respond to commands on the first command and to respond promptly, there is no begging the dog to do these things.
Note: As each course is designed specifically with our client’s needs, goals and objectives in mind, we feel that you as a client should have that option to decide what it is that you wish to learn and how far you wish to go with it. Some people have little behavior problems with their dog and wish to only get a basic level of obedience, where as other clients have more behavior issues with their dog and they wish to achieve a high level of obedience or more specialized trained. So the cost of the training is different and very specific to each individual client.
